What is the i³ Upgrade Method?
The i³ Upgrade Method is a creative commentary I created based on the Accelerated Resolution Technique.
It contains aspects of ART but elements have been changed.
For example, in ART the instruction doesn’t contain these elements; breathwork, universal timeless spiritual practices, gratitude, a wild animal, a large tree that has fallen across a river, a waterfall, a small lake, creating and spreading an ash paste, and nature sound effects.
In ART there is a bridge and a fountain.
It is a gentle, eye-movement-based process designed to help you recover from stress and trauma without the typical overwhelm of talk therapy.
- No Reliving Trauma: You don’t have to describe your “challenging event(s)” in detail or go over them again and again.
- Built for Safety: It works with your sensitive nervous system, keeping you grounded and in control. If it feels like too much, you pause.
- Efficient but Deep: It’s faster than traditional therapy and avoids the “emotional hangover,” though you might feel like your mental furniture is being quietly rearranged.
- Keep Your Gift: You won’t lose your empathy or depth. You’ll still cry at movies; you just won’t be haunted by the “sting” of the past.
- The Vibe: Think of it as a “soul rejuvenation” that bridges the gap between knowing your patterns and actually feeling free from them. It includes universal spiritual practices that, when blended with an evidence-based therapy (rapid eye movement), provide a complete path forward for an HSP.
1. Will the i³ Upgrade Method overwhelm me if I’m already very sensitive?
Short answer: No, and that’s actually the point.
Longer answer: It works with your nervous system, not against it.
Unlike some other methods, it avoids making you retell your challenging event over and over. Instead, it helps you process distress naturally, without overwhelming your emotions.
Many HSPs are surprised by how gentle and safe the i3 Upgrade Method feels. You remain present, grounded, and in control throughout.

2. Do I have to relive my challenging event in detail?
Blessedly, no.
You don’t have to describe every detail or relive the event. The method avoids going over things verbally again and again.
This is great for HSPs, who often recall memories intensely.
3. How do I prepare for an i³ Upgrade Method session?
Each session should be uninterrupted and last about 45 minutes.
Soften the lighting, keep the room at a comfortable temperature, and make your space cozy.
You can use a laptop, tablet or a cell phone with a larger screen, held horizontally. Your viewing device should be positioned at eye level and at a distance so you feel your eyes moving fully from one side to the other.
Drink water afterward to feel refreshed, since the session uses energy.
After your session, keep plans light and focus on gentle, relaxing activities.
If you use substances like drugs or alcohol to cope, being as clear-headed as possible will help you get the most out of your session.
It’s best to have just one session per week so your system can adjust naturally.
4. What should I do if I feel overwhelmed or triggered during the video session?
If you feel anxious, listen to the session before joining so you know what to expect.
You might try a grounding technique, such as taking slow, deep breaths or holding something comforting, such as a soft blanket or a smooth stone, before and during the session. These small rituals help your body feel safer and more relaxed.
You can pause the video at any time. You are always in control.
5. How is the i³ Upgrade Method different from EMDR?
They’re similar, but not the same.
Both methods use eye movements to help you work through challenges. The i3 Upgrade Method is more guided and uses a feature called Voluntary Image Replacement to improve memory performance.

8. Will using the i³ Upgrade Method make me less emotional or less empathetic?
No, it does not remove your depth, empathy, or sensitivity.
It helps remove the background noise of distress. Many HSPs feel more present, grounded, and like themselves afterward.
